A respected Rights Defender and Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori on Human Rights, Kelvin Ejumudo has extended warm greetings to Christians.
in Delta State and across Nigeria on the celebration of Easter.
He called on Christians to deeply reflect on the profound significance of Easter which commemorates the crucifixion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, stating that the season offers Christians the opportunity to strive to live above sins as the Lord, Jesus Christ had preached on earth and died in atonement of the sins of man.
Continuing, Activist Ejumudo who also doubles as the National Secretary of Citizens Rights Concern Enhancement Initiative (CRCEI), AKA Human Rights Protection Congress (HRPC), stressed that the spirit of Easter resonates deeply with the values of unity, love, and resilience, urging Deltans to have faith in the good governance trajectory of governor Sheriff Oborevwori, stating that sincere encouragement from the people would spur the Governor to speed up good governance to impact every nook and cranny of the state.
“As we celebrate this sacred season, l urge us to imbibe the enduring lessons of Easter such as compassion, forgiveness, and the unrivalled belief in a brighter future of our dear Delta State,” he charged Deltans.
He further stated, “Easter signifies a new beginning for humanity, therefore, as a people bound in unity and love, we should strive to advocate and promote progress, development, and a more prosperous future for our dear State.”
He added further, “On the occasion of this festive season, let us commit ourselves to the sacred ideals of peace, harmony, and mutual respect. Let us strengthen the bonds that unite us and work together to build the Delta State of our dreams, where every citizen, irrespective of class, religion, tribe, political affiliation and social leaning can reach his/her full potential.”
He finally said, “I urge Christians to emulate Christ and take advantage of the Easter celebration to reinforce the ideals of personal sacrifice to promote mutual tolerance and peaceful co-existence in Delta State and Nigeria.
