2027: Owhelogbo PDP Endorses Oborevwori, Ukodhiko, Others, Receives 1000+APC, LP Defectors

Leaders and members of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) ward 5, Owhelogbo, in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta state, have passed a vote of confidence on Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, the member representing Isoko federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Pastor Jonathan Ukodhiko.

The PDP ward 5 also passed a confidence vote on the Council Chairman, Prince Godwin Ogorugba and the member representing Isoko North constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Bernard Odior.

The vote of confidence which was moved by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Talent Development, Ugaga Ogheneyole, seconded by a member of the party was unanimously endorsed by the house on Friday during an enlarged meeting of the ward to deliberate how to move the party forward and welcome the All Progressive Congress, (APC) and Labour Party decampees to the PDP.

Speaking during the event held at Owhelogbo, a staunch former member of the APC and one of the leaders that led the APC decampees, Sunny Uthoro, lamented his leaving the PDP for APC, saying his return to the PDP is home coming as the APC has nothing to offer the people.

The former senior aide to former Delta Secretary to State Government, (SSG), and a staunch chieftain of the APC, Ovuozourie Macaulay stated that Friday happens to be his happiest day on earth, saying apart from PDP there is no other political party in the Isoko nation and Owhelogbo community.

According to him, “Leading other members of the APC to the PDP was joyful and fulfilling to my life, comes 2027, Sheriff’s second tenure is already a done deal.”

Speaking at the meeting, Precious Anudo who led the Labour Party decampees to the PDP said they have suffered enough hence the decision to dump their party and join the PDP, saying PDP has done MORE for the people of Delta state and come 2027 the return of Governor Oborevwori shall be 100 percent.

Other leaders of the APC in Owhelogbo ward 5, Akpoyibo Obiovo, Bright Oziwele, Yanke Omote, Onos Elijah, Emeni and James Ighota, said they and and other members of the APC had left PDP because of the way and manner the affairs of the party was been piloted and their return to the party was due to appeals from some PDP chieftains in Owhelogbo community, adding that politics was about development of the people and community and as a politician if you failed in these areas you are not fit to be called or be a politician.

The former leaders of the APC urged that everybody should be carried along in the scheme of things and speak in one voice to move the PDP forward and thanked and commended governor Oborevwori for remembering the people of Isoko nation and urged all and sundry to vote for him come 2027.

Also speaking, a former leader of the APC, Ujiri Otobo while returning to the PDP, he thanked and commended the PDP even as he vowed that come 2027 PDP shall return to the government house Asaba, adding that “PDP is a strong party to beat in 2027 and I have confidence in the administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and with your support the party shall be carried to greater heights.”

Speaking also, a quintessential chieftain of the Owhelogbo PDP Ward 5 and Executive Assistant to the governor on Petroleum Monitoring, Mike Ogwah, who was highly elated and full of praises of the promise keeping governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, and the giant strides of his administration across the state especially in Isoko, thanked Owhelogbo PDP Ward 5 political leaders for their unflinching and unwavering commitment in making sure come 2027, Governor Oborevwori is returned for a second term.

According to Ogwah, the 2027 election landslide victory of Governor Sheriff Oborewvori was already getting clearer following the mass return of APC and LP members to the PDP.

Receiving the decampees to the PDP, the member representing Isoko Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Jonathan Ukodhiko, represented by Sunny Elueni thanked the decampees and assured them to be carried along in the affairs of the party as none will be short changed.

Speaking in the same vein, a member of the Delta State Board of Local Government Service Commission, Mrs Minnie Igbrude thanked the decampees for coming to the party saying they should henceforth know they are all full members of the PDP and as brothers and sisters.

Welcoming the decampees into the party, Owhelogbo PDP Ward 5 Chairman, and Special Assistant to the governor on Youth Mobilisation, Benedict Ulebe, promised to carry them along and urged all and sundry especially the decampees to join hands to move the PDP forward and return the governor for a second tenure come 2027.

High point of the enlarged meeting was a vote of confidence passed on the governor, Ukodhiko, Odion, Ogorugba and was unanimously accepted as well as welcoming the decampees to PDP and burning of APC brooms which represent the symbol of the party.
