The Executive Chairman Isoko-North Council Hon. (Elder) Prince Godwin Ogorugba has taken a bold step to ban the activities of scavengers popularly know as IRON CONDEMN with the local government.
This decision was made known by the Executive Chairman, Hon. Godwin Ogorugba during elaborate security meeting with traditional rulers, President generals and all heads of security agencies.
The council boss emphasized that the scavengers activities have become serious concern due to their involvement in criminal acts such as kidnapping, Armed robbery, sales of illicit drugs and vandalism, He said “these scavengers activities pose a significant threat to the lives and properties of isoko North people, prompting the council to resolved to ask them to leave the local government within 20 days,” he added.
The Chairman therefore urged residents who rented or leased their land to the scavengers to take necessary action to vacate them within the stipulated period of time, as the council will no longer tolerate activities that destroy the community’s business.
Ogorugba also said any landlord or resident who fail to comply with the directives to vacate the scavengers from their land on or before 22nd December 2024 , the council will be forced to use security agencies to vacate them and take over the land as government property, because “they can’t use their business to destroy our own means of livelihoods, properties and endanger our lives” he concluded.
The council Chairman, Hon. Ogorugba extends his heartfelt appreciation to all Isoko North residents for their solidarity and support for his administration promising , that he will continue to work for the best interest of Isoko North people in order to consolidate on the MORE AGENDA of his Excellency Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, governor of Delta State.
