An Olomoro Chief Magistrate Court presided over by His Worship, C. E. Amudo, Chief Magistrate GD 11, has sacked the Chief Adonis Ubuwere led Executive of Irri Federal Union (IFU), Irri, directing the government agency to withdraw their recognition.
The election held on 14th March, 2024, that ushered into office the newly elected Executive members of Irri Federal Union (IFU) led by Chief Adonis Ubuwere had been challenged by the Defendant/Applicants represented by Rapheal Arovah and 4 others, in a suit with No. MCM/4/2024, that the election was conducted during the pendency of the suit and motion for interlocutory injunction.

The Defendant/Applicants led by Rapheal Arovah and 4 others, are seeking for an Order among others to set aside the election, selection or appointment of the Plaintiff/Respondents led by Chief Adonis Ubuwere and other Order to direct government agency to withdraw their recognition.
Ruling on the matter Friday 29th November, 2024, His Worship, Amudo held that in the final analysis: “I find and hold that there is merit in this application”
“I am enthused by the application that they have fulfilled the requirements of the law for the court to exercise it’s discretion to grant this application”
“Consequently, this application succeeds and I hereby make an Order setting aside the election, selection or appointment of the 1st Plaintiff/Respondents (Chief Adonis Ubuwere) and members of the elected Executives of the Irri Federal Union (IFU), Irri during the pendency of this Suit.
“It is further ordered, directing any government agency to withdraw the recognition (if any) of the 1st Plaintiff/Respondents (Chief Adonis Ubuwere) and members of the elected Executives of the Irri Federal Union (IFU), Irri Clan pending the hearing and determination of the substantive Suit”.
When contacted, the 1st Plaintiff/Respondents, Chief Adonis Ubuwere said he has already filed for a stay of execution as well as an appeal of the judgment.
“Well, I have filled a stay of execution and also filled an appeal challenging the rulling of that motion setting aside the election till the determination of the case and by the order of the court, I remain the President General Irri Federal Union as we return to status quo, thank you”, he stated.
