Today, we honor the memory of our iconic leader Late Senator Francis Spanner Okpozo, a trailblazer who left an indelible mark on Nigeria’s political landscape. Elected on the platform of the Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN), he served as Deputy Speaker in the Bendel State House of Assembly. His leadership prowess earned him a senatorial seat under the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the Third Republic.
As a senator, he chaired and participated in various committees, demonstrating his commitment to governance and public service. A devoted Christian and community leader, he was a unifying figure who inspired loyalty and admiration.
His political career spanned multiple parties, including the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC), where he played a founding role in Delta State. As a member of the National Board of Trustees, he contributed to shaping the country’s political direction.
Today, we remember his legacy of forthrightness, integrity, and selfless service. His impact on Nigerian politics and the lives of those he touched will never be forgotten.
