The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dennis Emomotimi Guwor on the 24th of February, 2025 commissioned the remodelled Chairman’s Quarters of Isoko South Local Government Council.

Speaking during the event, the Delta State House of Speaker said that, “What the Chairman of Isoko South Local Government Council, Hon. Friday Warri, have done is to compliment the efforts of the MORE AGENDA of the Delta State Governor; from what I am seeing it is a state of the art structure.”
He said that, the Isoko South Chairman should always consult the people of the local government before embarking on projects and do the projects to standard and specifications, stating that all the projects the Governor of the State has embarked upon are done to specifications with quality.
He assured the people of Isoko South Local Government Area that, the Governor of Delta State is a promise keeper, noting that the Asaba/Ughelli express road is taking a new look, that the 29 House of Assembly members are solidly behind the Governor beyond 2027.
Earlier on in his address, the Chairman of Isoko South Local Government Council, Hon. Friday Warri said that, “I carry out this project because 7 months ago when I took the oath of office as the Executive Chairman of the Local Government Council, it has been a worthy experience travelling from my village to Oleh on every working day due to the absence of a habitable chairman’s official quarters.”
According to him, “I am pleased to announce to you that one of the very first things we did when we assumed office was to meet with all relevant security agencies to make Isoko South a safe place for all.”
Hon. Warri also said that, “Road rehabilitation of varying degrees has formed the fulcrum our first few months in office. The bad spot of Ogbemudia road have undergone repairs, and we are not stopping at that, because we understand that most of our roads are state roads, but they are used mostly by our local people, so we would not ignore the poor state of these roads. We will continue to carry out palliative measures to ease the burden of our road users.”
The Chairman also acknowledged that since he assumed office, his administration has ensured technological-compliance by providing stable solar electricity for the council secretariat and the chairman official resident.
He further said that, the Local Government Council is at the final stage of launching an official website for the local government, adding that the website would help to connect artisans and professionals with job opportunities, thereby keeping our people productively engaged and bring governance closer to the people.
He also revealed that, as a demonstration of his commitment to promoting qualitative education, he recently flagged off 17, 000 notebooks donations to all the learners across the 48 primary schools in Isoko South, assuring that the local government council will continue to do all that is necessary to shape the lives of learners positively, build their characters and prepare them for brighter and rewarding future.
He thanked the leaders and people of Isoko South Local Government Area, for their staunch belief in his capacities to chart a new greater Isoko South, stating that it has been privilege to serve them and bring the dividends of democracy to their doorsteps.
In an chat with newsmen, the Commissioner of Local Government Affairs, Hon. Kelly Penawou praised the Chairman of Isoko South Local Government Council, Hon. Friday Warri for constructing the state of the art chairman residence building, and urged him to do more for the people of the local government area in order to compliment the MORE AGENDA of the Governor Oborevwori led administration.
One of the highlights of the commissioning ceremony was the unveiling of the Local Government official logo by the Hon. Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Hon. Kelly Penawou.
