Ogorugba Urges Isoko North Residents to Adhere to Environmental Sanitation Bye-Laws

The Executive Chairman Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, Hon. (Elder) Prince Godwin Ogorugba has made passionate appeal to residents of Isoko North to always adhere to Environmental Sanitation bye-Laws in order to keep Isoko North clean and habitable for all.

The Council Boss, made this appeal today 29th March 2025 during the end of the month environmental sanitation exercise strictly monitored by him and his environmental tax-force team at Ozoro headquarters of Isoko North Local Government. He said ” How can a person open his eyes and drop refuse into the drain, causing drainage blockage which will result to partial flooding during rain fall” he stated.

The Chairman reitirated the effort of his administration to keep Isoko North clean and ensure free flow of all the drains in Ozoro and it’s environs to minimize the rate of flooding during rain season.

According to the Chairman, ” I have directed all my staff in the environmental department and the taskforce committee to seat up and ensure full implementation of environmental bye-baws by persecuting all offenders.

The Chairman, frowned at the attitudes of some developers who intentionally drop sand and granite at the drains along the road side thereby obstructing free flow of water and traffic. The Chairman therefore ordered the seal-up of three ongoing projects along Oruamudhu Road, Ozoro till further notice. “You can’t use your own private project to affect public residents”, he said.

However, the Chairman also advised those who have illegal structures along the road side to remove them immediately for free flow of traffic for road users in the local government.

Ogorugba appreciated Isoko North traditional rulers and community leaders for their cooperation and synergy with his administration in keeping their community clean and safe for healthy living of our people, in consolidating the MORE Agenda of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State.

He said “cleanliness is nearest to Godliness and keeping Isoko North clean is every body’s business” he added.
