… Assures to partner with Isoko NUJ

The Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Council, Hon. Elder Godwin Ogorugba has pledged his administration commitment to deliver on the mandate given to him by the electorate by the delivery of the dividends of democracy, assuring of a formidable senergy with the Isoko Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists.
The Council chairman disclosed this Tuesday in his Office at Ozoro, while playing host to the Isoko Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, noting that the role of the press as the fourth estate of the realm can not be undermined as they hold other organs of government accountable.

In a brief chat with the Union, the Council boss pointed out that barely five months in office, he has made remarkable achievements that make impact on the lives of the electorate, including rehabilitation of the failed portions of Ekugbo -Iyede – Olomoro road, provision and distribution of Text books and Sandals to primary school pupils across the Local Government Area, and the resurfacing of Owhelogb-Owhe road.
Other feats achieved also is the installation of software data base communication powered by solar system at the Council Secretariat in Ozoro, commencement of construction of a new Administrative block for the Local Government and building of I5 locked up shops at Ofagbe Town.
On the area of healthy living, Deacon Ogorugba stated that as part of his empowerment programme, his administration is also providing drugs and Soya milk free to the Health Care Facilities in the Council Area.
Speaking further, he stated that in checking insecurity in the area with the view of restoring peace, he has provided operational means of mobility to the security personnel in the area.
Continuing, Elder Ogorugba assured of a partnership with the Isoko Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, adding that the place of the press can not be undermined while charging the press to always propagate the activities of the government to the general public professionally.
Earlier the Chairman expressed sincere gratitude to the Chairman and the delegation for their solidarity, support and forthright reporting over the years.
He assured them of a continuous good working relationship and promised to attend to their demands as much as possible.
Speaking earlier the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists,Isoko Chapel Comrade Michael Ilaya had intimated the Council Chairman of the need to foster and deepen harmonious relationship with the Isoko Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists who are professionals.
Comrade Ilaya also urged the Council Chairman to consolidate on the relationship that has existed between the parties before becoming the Council Boss and requested for strengthening that strategic partnership.
Giving the vote of thanks, the past chairman and leader of the Chapel, Comrade Emmanuel Ekebe appreciated the Council Chairman for the audience adding that the Isoko Chapel of the NUJ remain the only Chapel in the state to have floated a newspaper including an online version.
