Speaking during an inspection tour of projects in Udu and Uvwie Local Government Areas, Izeze highlighted several key projects under construction.

These include the Bazi Road off College Road in Aladja, the Opete Road linking DSC Expressway to Opete Waterside, the DSC Link Road connecting to Ughelli-Patani Road, and the Sokoh Estate Road in Effurun.

According to Izeze, these projects reflect the Governor’s commitment to the MORE Agenda, aimed at ensuring development across the state.

He praised the quality of work and urged contractors to fast-track progress before the onset of heavy rains.

Commenting on the DSC Link Road, Izeze explained its purpose is to ease congestion on the East-West Road.

“The work is impressive, especially considering the difficult terrain. The contractors are working to specification, and we have encouraged them to make the most of the remaining dry season,” he said.

At Sokoh Estate Road, Izeze described the project as long overdue. “For over 25 years, this road has been in disrepair. It’s a critical link between Jakpa Road and Airport Road, and its redesign was necessary due to its unique challenges, including flooding and underground water,” he explained.

He added that the new design includes wider lanes and larger drains to address persistent flooding.

“The residents are supportive because they have endured so much. Once completed, this will be a legacy project,” he said.

Contractors on site expressed appreciation for the cooperation from local communities and pledged to deliver quality work within agreed timelines.
