Odior Hands Over Rehabilitation of Etevie Community Hall to Contractor, Seeks Timely Completion

The Majority Whip of Delta State House of Assembly and Member Representing the Isoko North State Constituency, Hon. (Barr.) Bernard Odior, yesterday handed over the rehabilitation of Etevie Community Hall in Ozoro, Isoko North local Government Area of Delta State to the contractor handling the job.

The official handing over of the building project to the contractor which took place at the project site was supervised by the Delta State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (DESOPADEC) team led by Architect Sunny Obesey from the Department of Housing, and was witnessed by the Etevie community leaders including the former President General of Ozoro kingdom, Sir Raphael Afemari for proper documentation and monitoring.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, Hon. Odior appreciated the DESOPADEC team for officially been on ground to witnessed the handover process of the building project to a contractor targeted at a complete overhaul and rehabilitation of the dilapidated structure, stressing that the building has remained in the dilapidated state for more than 15 years.
Odior pointed out that the move for the rehabilitation of Etevie Community Hall in Ozoro kingdom resulted from his continuous interface with the community leadership over their continuous demands, just like the ongoing Ososo road project.
According to him, he has again influenced the complete rehabilitation of the building through the Board of DESOPADEC to alleviate the plight of his people, stressing that “one of the main reasons why I am in Government today, apart from my primary assignment of law making, is to deliver quality representation of my people by attracting reasonable projects of greater impact to Isoko North constituency”
He stated that “government exist solely because of the people hence, I remained fully committed to deliver on my campaign promises and will never be distracted by activities of naysayers but will keep my parts of the bargain; they can do the talk while I do the work”.
He assured the people of Isoko North constituency that he will continue to expedite actions and attract greater developmental projects to Isoko North, urging all his supporters to continue to rally support for the More Agenda of His Excellency, Rt Hon (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori in the state for more dividends of democracy.
Hon. Odior expressed implicit confidence on the contractor to whom the project has been assigned, charging the people of Etevie Community in Ozoro kingdom to fully cooperate with him for a timely and adequate delivery.

Also speaking, Sir. Raphael Oro Afemari JP stated that the leadership of Etevie Community will continuously be on ground from time to time to monitor the performance and progress of work on the project and will not hesitate to raise alarm if any deviation from the standard and specifications is noticed, while assuring the contractor of their adequate support and cooperation.

Earlier in his remarks, Architect Sunny Obesey advised the contractor to abide by the terms and conditions of the agreement and execute the projects according to require standing and job specification, saying that the Board of DESOPADEC has zero tolerance for sub-standard performance and will never be responsible for any deviation.
Speaking further, Obesey stated that the board of DESOPADEC do not mobilize funds for contractors anymore due to the attitude of some bad elements in the field but the contractors will source for the funds to execute the projects and see to its completion before the Board would make any payment.
